Do you offer church or chapel services?
No, we specialise in non-traditional farewell services. Often at home or the beach, a surf club or park.
Do you offer burials?
No, we only offer cremations
What's the difference between a Funeral Service and a Memorial Service?
Funeral services include a coffin with the guest of honour at the service. A Memorial service takes place after the cremation with ashes or a photo. Given the often-public locations we use, we only offer Memorial Services
What's the most cost effective way of managing someone's end of life?
Direct Cremation. You can also add a DIY farewell party at home for free.
Do you offer Funeral Insurance?
No. We believe Prepay Funerals and Funeral Bonds are both great ideas, but Funeral Insurance will ultimately cost significantly more than you get in return. It is insurance, after all. We believe insurance for an inevitable outcome (dying) is a waste.
Are cremations emission-free?
No. We try to minimise the impact on the environment by using cardboard coffins made with recycled materials. We don't have lacquer or paint leeching from burial coffins into the ground or and we avoid most of the embalming solutions used in funerals.
Can I have a live musician or singer at the service?
Absolutely. Make it personal by adding live music.
What does a funeral generally cost?
The average cost of a farewell service in Australia is just under $8000. We're generally more cost effective because we don't overspend on the unneccessary extras.
